WHAT WE DO

SHOOTING & FIELDCRAFT

Good at Call of Duty, Fortnite or Battlefield? Come and prove your worth with a real weapon system.

As a member of the RAFAC, you’ll be given all the opportunities available to get you running through a field playing soldier, or down on the range taking shots at targets.

FIELDCRAFT

Fieldcraft encompasses all the skills required to fight and survive as a solider in the field. Cooking, shelter building, patrol formations and squad attacks are all elements taught within the fieldcraft environment.

SMALL BORE

Small bore shooting is undertaken using the RAFAC’s inventory of L114A1 Cadet Small Bore Target Rifles (CSBTR). Cadets will be taught how to safely handle the rifle and accurately fire it at a range of 25 metres.

FULL BORE

The L98A2 is the full bore rifle for the RAFAC and is based off of the in service military SA80 individual weapon. The 5.56mm rifle has an effective range out to 300 metres and Cadets will be taught how to apply the marksmanship principles to confidently and accurately achieve this.

CLAY TARGET

The newest edition to the RAFAC’s shooting remit is Clay Target shooting. Our experienced team of instructors will mentor Cadets through the principles of shotgun shooting, getting them able to hit that fast flying clay with every shot!
