WHAT WE DO
The RAFAC isn’t all about flying. Its about giving the young people of today the confidence and skills to exceed even their own expectations in life.
With a vast array of subjects and qualifications to get your teeth stuck in to, you’ll soon find your interest and excel in it.
The RAFAC has its own training syllabus, spread across a range of different topics and activities. Cadets are encouraged to work their way through the levels during their career. Things covered by the syllabus include, shooting, first aid, music and cyber to name a few.
The RAFAC has a partnership with the Cadet Vocational Qualification Organisation, who provide BTEC level qualifications to young people. Through a process of workbooks and assessed lessons Cadets can achieve BTEC’s in Music, Public Services & Leadership, equivalent to 4 GCSE’s.
A new cooperation formed between the British Safety Council and the RAFAC, now sees Cadets able to gain an Entry Level Award in Hazard Awareness. The Health & Safety qualification sets Cadets on the right path to spot and challenge H&S violations in the workplace.
If a Cadet proves to be a fine pilot during their AEF and GIC flights, they may be rewarded with the chance to take part in either a flying or gliding scholarship
